This regional hub will also become the new home of the newly merged Frankston Tennis Club and Frankston East Tennis who were left without clubrooms and courts after Labor failed to adequately provide new grounds after acquiring the old ones.
Such poor planning and out of control population growth in is placing enormous pressure on our local sporting clubs leaving many in limbo.
Unlike Daniel Andrews who has decided to give a massive $225 million of taxpayers’ money to the AFL to upgrade Etihad Stadium, the Liberal Nationals are getting behind cash-strapped local sporting clubs who desperately need our support.
These new facilities will create a state of the art environment for tennis and gymnastics and provide more opportunities to ensure local sporting clubs can keep up with population growth.
Comments attributable to Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region, Inga Peulich MLC:
“A Liberal Nationals government will support the growth in grassroots sport and the proposed Regional Tennis and Gymnastics Centre at Centenary Park will be game changer for Frankston.”
“For a long time the Frankston community been calling for such a facility, and despite being in government for 15 of the last 19 years, Labor have failed to deliver this much needed regional sporting facility.”
“Only a Liberal Nationals government will contribute over $8 million to give the Frankston community a world-class sports centre capable of supporting competitions at all levels, from local, state, national and international events.”
