“It is increasingly apparent that the advent of political correctness in the school playground is diminishing our family units and the sacred bond between child and parent,” Ms Peulich said.
Ms Peulich said that schools are not a Petri dish for the cultivation of alternative and left-wing value systems, and a symbolic day that means so much to families should not be tarnished by the Andrews Government left-wing agenda.
“Mother’s Day is about celebrating the maternal figures in our lives, whether it is mum, grandma, an aunt or a female mentor, and honouring their contribution as women in society,” Ms Peulich said.
Ms Peulich has called on the Minister for Education to intervene to make sure that all of our schools have the freedom to honour Mother's Day or any other religious holiday, as a reflection of the importance that they serve in our society.
