There remains a strong level of angst and community concern amongst local residents along and surrounding the Frankston Line in response to the Andrews Labor Government’s unpopular solutions exacerbated by consultation which was underhanded and not genuine.
Community Reponse to Carrum Skyrail:
The poorly executed process by the LXRA has caused undue stress and anxiety to residents.
Residents are fearful that their number one asset, the family home will suffer as a consequence of Skyrail proceeding.
Concerns remain that this design will negatively impact amenity and lead to increases in crime, including graffitiing.
Simon Johnson: No Skyrail
12-months ago Sonya Kilkenny accused community groups who opposed Skyrail of running fear-based campaigns and spreading misinformation. In light of recent announcements at Edithvale and Bonbeach, it is time for Sonya to stand up for Carrum.
Cameron Howe: Patterson Lakes Community Forum
Disappointingly Sonya Kilkenny has remained absent throughout the process, declined invitations to community meetings and continued to alienate the community by failing to vocalise community concerns.
Keith Maggs: No Skyrail Frankston Line
There needs to be an upper house investigation into an undergrounding option for the remaining 3 stations before the LXRA and government proceed with any decision.
