On inspecting the site, Inga Peulich agrees with VicRoads that narrowing Beach Road is a bad idea.
Narrowing of Beach Road will negatively impact on local residents and visitors to the foreshore, resulting in a substantial loss of car parking for beach users as well as road space for motorists and road cyclists.
The Labor dominated council led by Labor ally and Deputy Mayor, Cr. Rosemary West, has ignored a previous council decision to build the 3 km stretch of Bay Trail using a back of curb design which was fully funded in the council budget following extensive community consultation.

“Narrowing Beach Road is a shocking decision and the ALP run Kingston Council must stop delaying the building of the Bay Trail back of kerb.”
“Daniel Andrews must reign in Labor ally Cr. Rosemary West and the ALP run Kingston Council so that there is no more delay to the building of the Bay Trail back of kerb.”
